According to Van der Graaff –
“Tower X seems to have fared better. The arrow slits
opening on its flanks were closed at some point in antiquity at an unspecified
date.
However, unlike the two towers farther west, much of
the building was probably standing at the time of the eruption.
Large parts of the structure lay collapsed in volcanic
debris on the exterior of the fortifications at the time of excavation. (Note
105).
